Disney’s Adventure Park is a 67-acre Theme Park that opened February 8, 2001. It is a Walt Disney Company through their Parks and Resorts division.  The Park is divided into seven ‘districts’ that are themed for different places of interest in Disney’s history or attachment to Disney in some way. As an example, Buena Vista Street is reminiscent of the Burbank Street where the Walt Disney Studios are located; Paradise Pier is reminiscent of the coastal boardwalks; and Cars Land is another themed district based on Pixar's Cars films. As in many of Disney’s Theme Parks, there are Disney characters that are present throughout the park. Some of them are scheduled to a particular area while others wander the park, available for pictures and greeting patrons of the park. An interesting fact about the Park is that you can see “Oswald, the lucky rabbit” all over the park (looks similar to Mickey Mouse). Walt Disney created him when he worked for Universal Studios prior to creating his own Disney Studios. Universal took the rights away so Walt had to create Mickey Mouse, otherwise, we could have had an Oswald. Now Disney has the rights back. Disney California Adventure Park is the 10th most visited theme park at 8,769,000 in 2014.
