Hersheypark

Hersheypark is a 121-acre theme park that opened May 30, 1906. It was originally a vacation park for the employees of the Hershey Chocolate Company. There were 3,212,000 visitors in 2014.

There are six themed areas in the park. Founders Way holds many of the  children’s rides, like the Cocoa Cruiser rollercoaster, Ladybug, and Carrousel. Kissing Tower Hill has rides like Flying Falcon that suspend and elevate you, the Kissing Tower that elevates and turns you to give you a view of the park through Hershey Kiss shaped windows, and the Great Bear inverted looping roller coaster. Midway America has the Ferris Wheel, the Merry Derry Dip Fun Slides where the rider slides down on a burlap bag, and the Whip where sudden twists and turns pull the fun right out of the rider. Pioneer Frontier holds the Claw for those brave enough to swing 64-feet in the air, the favorite Pirate that gives the rider the feeling of weightlessness and the Sidewinder roller coaster with its unexpected changes in speeds. The Hollow holds the  Wave Swinger, Tea Cups, and three roller coasters, one of which is the SooperDooperLooper.

The Boardwalk has six water slides, over 600 water features, a lazy river to take an inner tube on a relaxing drift around the Boardwalk, a wave pool and areas to splash around and have fun for the family. On occasion you may catch the traveling band “The Boardwalkers” and you can find something to eat on the way through the area.
