The zoo, which opened in 1902 as Wheeler Park Zoo and in 1920 as Lincoln Park Zoo, covers 119 acres of land and has more than 1,800 animals. Another zoo in the state is the Tulsa Zoo in Tulsa, an 85-acre zoo which is home to around 2,600 animals. It opened in 1927 and has been drawing in more than half a million visitors annually. Other attractions to see animals in Oklahoma are the Lost Creek Safari in Stillwater, Garold Wayne Interactive Zoological Park in Wynnwood and the Oklahoma Aquarium in Jenks.
