LEGOLAND California

On March 20, 1999, Legoland California Resort was the third theme park to open, based on the Lego toy brand. Merlin Entertainments is the largest theme park firm in Europe and opened this park in Carlsbad.The theme park and resort are 128-acres.

There are eight areas in the park. Explorer Island is where promising paleontologists can explore life-size dinosaur footprints, ride through Safari Trek and get a picture taken while riding the Coastersaurus. LEGO Friends Heartlake City is where you will find the LEGO horse stables or splash around in the heart-shaped fountain. Fun Town is where 3-5-year-olds can strap into their own LEGO car, and get their own LEGOLAND license at Junior Driving School. Pirate Shores has a challenge on Captain Cranky’s Challenge or you can engage an opposing ship on the Pirate Reef. Castle Hill will take you to the time of Kings and Queens where you can go on the quest on Knight’s Tournament. The Land of Adventure could find you at Pharaoh’s Revenge and rummaging in Pippin’s Bazaar. The Imagination Zone is where you can put your plans to the test in the Build & Test room. Miniland USA is the reproduction in 1:20 scale of famous familiar places in the United States. Take a Coast Cruise and see the sites, like Lady Liberty and Mount Rushmore.
