Universal Studios Hollywood is a film studio and theme park in the San Fernando Valley. Carl Laemmle first established the International Motion Picture Company in 1909. It then became The Universal Film Manufacturing Company in 1912.  Carl Laemmle opened the Universal City on March 15, 1915. It was not until July 15, 1964, that the theme park opened to make Universal Studios Hollywood complete. There were 6,824,000 visitors to the studio/theme park in 2014.

Fires have hit universal Studios Hollywood, Universal City, over the years causing millions of dollars worth of damage. Each time they have rebuilt, improving it. The some of the current studio tours are Bates Motel from Psycho, War of the Worlds plane crash, and Fast & Furious–Supercharged. There are also rides in the theme park;   Jurassic Park – The Ride, a water raft ride, Transformers: The Ride-3D, with simulation technology, and The Simpsons Ride, with four times the high definition animation then a home theatre on an 80 ft. diameter dome.

The park has costumed characters that can pop up anywhere within the park, you may be able to see Optimus Prime, Bumblebee and Megatron from the movie Transformers, Scooby-Doo & Shaggy with the Mystery Machine, Dracula could be out on special occasions or overcast days and Marilyn Monroe. The mascot of Universal Studios Hollywood is Woody Woodpecker. It is easy to check on meet and greets, just ask any employee of the park or check online.
